Those of us who coach people on their sexuality have seen a tremendous pressure placed on people in their intimate encounters, creating a condition I call “chronic sexual stress.” This condition occurs when we either don’t have the sex life we want, or we have trouble with some aspect of intimacy.
Chronic sexual stress takes many forms – it can be performance anxiety, leading to erectile dysfunction or difficulty achieving orgasm. It can prevent normal social interaction, for fear of getting into a sexual situation that exposes inexperience or unpreparedness.
This stems from the discomfort most people have talking about sex and things sexual. We need to get over our embarrassment and really talk about our experiences, fears, desires and understandings – only then can we learn how to heal this deep psychic would that affects so many people.
Let’s talk about sex, and discover a better way to sexual wellness.
